exist in 08 is a set of Live Art explorations, collaborations, installations, performances and
forums held at five sites across Queensland. Artists from three
generations and four continents will perform and discuss issues of
Live Art practice.
exist in 08 takes place over six days in Brisbane (Judith Wright Centre of
Contemporary Arts and Metro Arts) and Toowoomba (USQ Artsworx).
Evening performances will include local, national and international durational works, solo and
collaborative projects. Afternoons will showcase emerging artists in a DIAS program.
A series of talks, panels and debates will also bring together artists, researchers and
audiences each morning.
Skype hubs link gallery spaces and artist-run-initiatives in regional Queensland with the
performances and forums in Brisbane.
These artists shift the spaces between art and life in performance and live art that is
difficult, humorous, vulnerable, demanding, and confrontingly human.
